Farsi Maida Puri

Farsi Puri is a crispy traditional deep-fried Gujarati snack.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup maida
  2. 3 tbsp oil
  3. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  4. 1/2 tsp asafoetida
  5. per taste Salt
  6. as required Water
  7. As required Cooking oil for deep frying

Steps

  1. Take maida,cumin seeds, asafoetida,oil and salt in a bowl and mix well using your hand.

  2. Add water as required and knead a stiff dough. It should be harder than paratha.

  3. Cover it and keep aside for 10-15 minutes. Take each portion of dough and roll slightly thick as of poori.

  4. Prick rolled puri with a knife or fork.

  5. Heat oil in a pan over medium flame. Deep fry pricked raw puris until they became light brown on both sides.

  6. Drain off the puri over kitchen paper to absorb excess oil and crispy and crunchy farsi puris are ready.
